Privacy Policy
How Cycling Soul collects, uses and protects your information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Cycling Soul (“we”, “us” or “our”) may collect when you visit cyclingsoul.com (the “Site”), how we use it and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
If you contact us by email or through a form, or subscribe to anything we offer, we may receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, time spent on pages and approximate location based on your IP address.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to make the Site work, understand how it is used and, where applicable, support advertising and affiliate programs. Cookies are small files stored on your device. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site may not work properly if you block them.
- Essential cookies: needed for basic site functions.
- Analytics cookies: help us understand which content is useful, for example through tools such as Google Analytics.
- Affiliate cookies: when you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set a cookie so that a qualifying purchase can be attributed to us.
- Advertising cookies: if we display ads, our advertising partners may use cookies to show relevant ads.
3. How we use your information
- To operate, maintain and improve the Site and our content
- To respond to your messages and requests
- To analyse traffic and understand what readers find helpful
- To detect, prevent and address security or technical issues
- To comply with legal obligations
- To measure affiliate performance in aggregate
4. Affiliate links and third-party sites
We participate in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click an affiliate link and buy something, the retailer handles your purchase and personal information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details or shipping address. We also link to other websites that we do not control, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read their policies. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us run the Site (such as hosting, analytics, email and advertising providers), when required by law or to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or sale. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us or as otherwise permitted by law.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described here, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to deal with your request and for reasonable record-keeping.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete or restrict its use, to object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a US state with privacy laws such as California, you may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising. To make a request, email us at contact@cyclingsoul.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
8. Do Not Track and browser signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There is currently no common standard for responding to it, so the Site does not change how it works when it receives one, though you can manage cookies and tracking through your browser and device settings.
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or electronic transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International visitors
The Site may be accessed from around the world, and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally.
